Booking & Appointments

How do I book an appointment or reschedule?

You can book online through our booking page 24/7. Select your preferred service, choose an available date and time, and fill in your details. You'll receive an email confirmation with your booking reference code. You can reschedule your appointment by sending an SMS to +61421486867.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations within 24 hours incur a 50% fee, and no-shows are charged the full session fee. You can cancel your appointment by sending an SMS to +61421486867.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You'll be asked to undress to your comfort level for treatment and will be properly draped with towels throughout the session. Only the area being treated is exposed at any time.

How long is a typical session?

We offer 30-minute and 60-minute sessions depending on the service. A 30-minute session is ideal for targeting a specific area, while a 60-minute session allows for comprehensive full-body treatment. Your therapist will recommend the best duration based on your needs.

What if I need to arrive late?

If you're running late, please let us know as soon as possible on +61421486867. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session, as we need to respect the schedule for other clients. The full session fee still applies.

Health Fund & Payment

Do you accept health fund rebates?

Yes, remedial massage services may be covered by your private health insurance. Coverage depends on your specific policy and level of extras cover. Check with your insurer for eligible services and rebate amounts.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, and Apple Pay. Payment is due at the time of your appointment.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No referral is needed for standard remedial or sports massage appointments.

Services & Treatments

What is the difference between remedial massage and relaxation massage?

Remedial massage is a therapeutic treatment that targets specific areas of pain, tension, or dysfunction. It uses evidence-based techniques to address the root cause of your discomfort. Relaxation massage focuses on overall stress relief with lighter, flowing strokes. At Elev8d Therapy, all our services are remedial in nature.

Is deep tissue massage painful?

Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure that may feel intense but should not be painful. Your therapist will communicate with you throughout the session and adjust pressure to your comfort level. Some mild soreness for 24-48 hours after treatment is normal and indicates the muscles are responding to therapy.

What is cupping therapy and does it leave marks?

Cupping therapy uses suction cups placed on the skin to increase blood flow, release fascial restrictions, and reduce muscle tension. The cups may leave temporary circular marks that typically fade within 3-7 days. These marks are not bruises — they indicate areas of stagnation where blood flow has been restored.

Is massage safe during pregnancy?

Pregnancy massage is generally considered safe after the first trimester. Our therapist uses specialised positioning (side-lying) and gentle techniques appropriate for each stage of pregnancy. Always consult your healthcare provider before booking if you have any pregnancy complications or concerns.

What is trigger point therapy?

Trigger point therapy targets hyperirritable spots (knots) within tight bands of muscle. These points can cause local pain and referred pain in other areas of the body. Your therapist applies sustained pressure to release these knots, relieving both the local and referred pain patterns.

Can you combine different techniques in one session?

Absolutely. Your therapist will assess your needs at the start of each session and may combine remedial massage, deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, and stretching techniques to create the most effective treatment plan for your specific condition.

How often should I get a massage?

This depends on your individual needs. For acute injuries or chronic pain, weekly sessions may be recommended initially. For general maintenance and injury prevention, fortnightly or monthly sessions are common. Your therapist will discuss a treatment schedule tailored to your goals.

Before & After Your Session

What should I do before my massage?

Drink plenty of water, avoid heavy meals for at least an hour before your session, and arrive 5-10 minutes early if it's your first visit. Let your therapist know about any injuries, medical conditions, or areas you'd like them to focus on or avoid.

What should I do after my massage?

Stay well hydrated for the rest of the day. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours to allow your muscles to recover. You may experience mild soreness, similar to post-exercise soreness, which should resolve within 24-48 hours. Applying heat to treated areas can help if needed.

Can I exercise after a massage?

Light activity like walking is fine, but we recommend avoiding intense exercise for 24 hours after treatment. Your muscles need time to recover and adapt to the changes made during the session. This is especially important after deep tissue or trigger point work.

Are there any conditions where massage is not recommended?

Massage may not be suitable if you have a fever, infectious skin condition, deep vein thrombosis, severe osteoporosis, or certain cardiovascular conditions. If you have any medical conditions, please add a note on the booking page for your therapist, or disclose them at the time of your appointment.
